Consistency Analysis of Distributed Ledgers in Fog-Enhanced Blockchains

AbstractBoth revolutionary technologies of Fog Computing (FC) and Blockchain (BC) serve as enablers for enhanced, people-centric trusted applications, they do meet in the provision higher standards expectations. In this paper, we address reliability fog-enhanced BC systems by analyzing forking phenomenon under different conditions, provide a reliable Distributed Ledger (DL) consistency assessment. We use FoBSim tool that is specifically designed to mimic emulate realistic FC-BC integration, which deploy Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm analyze probability fluctuating conditions. Based on our results, propose an inconsistency formula, can quantitatively describe how consistent DL system be.
